Taste and See...A Busy Weekend

I am recuperating today from a very busy weekend. Friday night we had Jonathan's end-of-season basketball social where we enjoyed some yummy food and chased our two youngest around the gym so they wouldn't get hit by flying basketballs. This was Jonathan's third year playing JV basketball, and his team only lost two games all season. Way to go, Jonathan! We only stayed a short while because I was off to our church's annual Women's Retreat! A whole weekend away from meals to cook, no children to care for...what a treat!

The theme for this year's retreat was "Taste and See that the Lord is Good" taken from Psalm 34:8. We enjoyed some wonderful Bible teaching, super fun fellowship, yummy food, and entertaining breakout sessions. I didn't sleep much or well, I ate too much, and I had a splitting headache when I came home yesterday, but it was all worth it! God showed up, and lives were touched...doesn't get much better than that!

After a short rest to try and alleviate the headache, it was off to get the younger two boys' photos taken. It had been a year since I had taken either of them to get professional photos done, so it was time. We chose a new studio, Portrait Innovations, which I now would highly recommend. The photos turned out great, and were ready within a half an hour! We got a CD with the photos we purchased, so I will try and get some of them posted on here soon.

All in all, it was a great weekend. Today I am catching up on things around the house and resting my weary body. Weekends like this remind me that I'm not as young as I used to be! I was also reminded of how much I love my husband and family (I really did miss them!), and how good God has been to us. I have tasted, and have seen that the Lord is truly good!
